CHILDREN IN MIGRATION:

Challenges – Resilience – Advocacy

Angela Esedebe, Discussion Leader

Campus President at Stratford University, Norfolk, Virginia

Primary research interests: women in development and global migration

Dr. Angela Esedebe has graciously agreed to host our first Café Chat on this high-priority topic for OMEP.  She brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our discussions about children in migrant, refugee, and asylum-seeking contexts in the United States and throughout the world. Her Café Chat will be of interest to everyone concerned about the millions of children currently living in these dire situations.
This Café Chat is also an excellent follow-up to our June 8 event on the same topic featuring Maria Pia Belloni, Chair of the Subcommittee on Children in Migration at the United Nations.

Originally from Nigeria, Dr. Esedebe received her Master’s Degree in International Law and Diplomacy from Lagos University and her Doctorate from Howard University. She is currently Campus President of Stratford University, where received the prestigious Faculty Award of Excellence.  She previously taught at Howard University and George Washington University’s undergraduate honors program.

Angela will share information, insights, and resources.  She will also welcome participant contributions and open discussion.  Please join us as we launch this new OMEP-USA series.

Participation limited to 15 OMEP-USA members and their guests (first-come, first-served).

There is no charge for participation. Pre-registration is required.
