Dear OMEP-USA member…

It is with sadness that I write this message. Past President Dr. Edna Ranck died on September 24, 2020. Her husband, Martin, said a funeral is not planned and cremation is eminent. Edna was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a globally recognized and respected colleague in research focusing on the history of early childhood education, the influence of Walt Disney in early childhood, the effect of legislation and governmental policies on the lives of children and their families, and scholarly work pertaining to the life and literature of Lewis Carroll.  She was a remarkable woman and avid traveler, a tireless advocate for children’s rights. Edna will be greatly missed by those of us who knew her and loved her.
